Last month at our Miami engagement party, I finally got to officially ask Adrienne and Bethany to be my two Maids of Honor. Let’s face it, I had them picked out before I even had the groom! So finally getting to ask them to stand by me on one of the biggest days of my life, was beyond exciting. I feel so honored to have two such amazing, smart, funny, ride or die women along on this journey with me.
Adrienne
Adrienne and I met in typing class on my first day at TCA in 8th grade. Honestly I found her a bit terrifying. She was incredibly self-assured for a 14 year old, with an air of quiet confidence that I found incredibly intimidating. Once I finally mustered up the courage to try to get to know her, I found a soft spoken and kind girl, with an encyclopedic knowledge of classic rock. And in reality, she didn’t really feel like she fit in at school either. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
Adrienne is the exact kind of friend you want as your maid of honor. She spends her time and lives her life with such intention and integrity, something I’ve always admired her for. With anything she does, she commits whole heartedly and with precision. As a confidant you can’t find anyone more understanding. She makes an art of listening, and I always walk away feeling validated and understood. She’s also one of the funniest people I know! There is a subtlety to her wit that if you’re not paying attention you just might miss it, that is, until you try to walk away and realize she’s cut you off at the knees. And don’t get any big ideas guys, she’s already spoken for 🙂
Bethany
I’ve spoken about how Bethany and I met on the blog before, but just in case any of you are unfamiliar, here is the short version. We officially met almost 7 years ago (OMG) when we both attended the now defunct Lucky FABB conference during NYFW. Long story short we had commented on each others blog’s, became internet friends and email pals, decided to go to the conference together having never met IRL. The first time we actually saw each other in person was when I opened the door to the hotel room we would be sharing. Her husband was pretty sure I was a craigs list killer, but that’s neither here nor there haha.
We went out to dinner the night before the conference, one thing led to another, and the next thing I know we are hugging and crying on two bar stools at the Mulberry Project (RIP) after having told each other our entire life stories. We instantly bonded over fashion, conspiracy theories, and our faith. It seems so strange now that had it not been for that one blog comment, we may have never met.
Bethany is hands down the funniest person I know. Her self-deprecating humor has me dying laughing on a daily basis. No one is quicker on the take, and bantering with her is one of the true joys of my life. Bethany and I have a bit of an age gap between us, and it has been so nice to have her as a mentor through my 20s. There is no one more woke, and getting her candid take on life and relationships has helped me immensely over the years. No matter what the issue, I know can always come to her and walk away with advice that is rooted in truth. She is one of the most compassionate, strong, and brave people I know. Her love for her daughters is something so special to see. Witnessing her as a parent makes me so excited for that chapter of my life to begin.
I’m sure when you think of David’s Bridal, Wedding Dresses are the first thing that come to mind; but, they actually offer so much more than that! After I worked with them a few months ago on a contest with Smile Direct Club, I realized then just how much more wedding related items their website offers. From adorable Bridesmaids accessories, to Reception Decor and even Grooms Gifts, they have it all! So now that I’ve properly hyped up My Maids of Honor, I’m sure you understand why I needed their Maid of Honor Boxes to be equally outstanding! Lucky for me I was able to team up with my friends over at David’s Bridal to make sure that they got the most amazing Gift Boxes possible!
When I was deciding what to include in the boxes I made sure to pick items that the girls would be able to use not just in relation to my wedding. I can’t tell you how many random notebooks and wine glasses I have that say “bride tribe” on them haha (not that there’s anything wrong with that 😉).
WHAT’S IN THE BOXES:
Personalized Maid of Honor Gift Box (also available for Bridesmaids)
I loved that I could get each girls name printed on top of the box, it’s the personal touches that really make a difference! They were super easy to assemble, and I loved how I was able to arrange the gifts inside for a super cute presentation.
Personalized Luggage Tag
I am obsessed with the font on the luggage tags! There are also a bunch of other color combos to pick from. Since we are having a destination wedding, I think these will come in handy 🙂
Wine Tumbler
I love these for the bachelorette party! I anticipate a lot of wine drinking to occur 🙂
Satin Night Shirt
How cute are these sleep shirts? I wanted to get the girls something matching so that we could take fun pics all together while we were getting ready.
White Bridal Lace Robe (also love this one that I wore here and here)
David’s Bridal truly has the BEST selection of robes that are super affordable. I chose this white lace one because I thought it matched the night shirts and looked super expensive and elegant even though it’s under $50!
Pinch Provisions Mini Emergency Kit for Bridesmaids
Weddings can be extremely hectic, and sometimes things just go awry. Now if I need a bandaid, safety pin, or Advil, everyone in my wedding party should be prepared 😉
Bon Voyage Travel Kit
I am in love with Glamsquad’s new product line – and this travel kit is perfect to take with you the day of a big event.
Champagne Bears
No gift box is complete without Sugarfina Champagne Gummies! These candies are seriously addicting and always a crowd pleaser 🙂
Makeup Towels
How genius are these Weezie Makeup Towels ? Nothing ruins a washcloth quite like a full face of makeup – these were a no brainer to include so my maids can take their faces off at the end of the night with ease.
Bridesmaid Sleep Mask
Here’s hoping there aren’t any post wedding hangovers, but just in case these sleep masks should come in handy the next day.
For any big event I always turn to Glamsquad to help get me ready. It was so funny getting all dolled up with Adrienne and Bethany before the engagement party, and made us all feel like pampered princesses.
For tips on making the most out of your Glamsquad appointment see my post here. To make an appointment check out their website.
I had so much fun getting to wear this beaded flapper dress! As soon as I saw it on the David’s Bridal website I knew it would be perfect for our engagement party (also love this one).
