Wedding Planning Checklist with WeddingWire

Hey y’all! I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with my favorite wedding planning website – WeddingWire! Over the next year, I will be sharing how I use their site and tools to help plan my wedding! Not only is WeddingWire a great source of inspiration and information, but they even have forums to connect with other brides for advice (or to vent haha)!

One of the first things I did as soon as Christian and I got engaged was sign up for emails from WeddingWire. Ok, Ok…it was about 6 months before we got engaged and I stand by my choice haha! If you’re like me the entire wedding planning process feels completely overwhelming. Even now writing this my baseline of anxiety is significantly higher than usual. I mean who wouldn’t be stressed? It’s the biggest day of your life thus far and unless you are really popular, probably the biggest party you will ever throw for yourself haha. But back to the WeddingWire emails.

The reason I signed up for the emails so “early” (even though I already felt years behind), was so I could start to wrap my mind around what exactly went into planning a wedding. From the Venue to the Dress to the Budget its a lot of information to process! And where to begin??

Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.

Any sound of music fans reading this? From the emails I learned about the WeddingWire Planning Tools, and most importantly the Checklist feature. How do you start any big project? WITH A CHECKLIST! Not only is their online checklist completely interactive but you can also invite your fiancé to join so you are both on the same page. Planning a Wedding is a lot more manageable when you focus on one step at a time rather that worrying about the whole event. Thankfully WeddingWire breaks every task down into a timeline, so you know exactly what needs to be done when.

A few notes about the checklist:

3. It is fully customizable so you can add or delete items as needed. Everyone’s wedding is different! For example, my venue includes the honeymoon suit in our wedding package so that is something I can cross off the list. We also chose to hire a wedding planner, so I don’t need to coordinate with vendors as she will be doing that on our behalf.
