Strapless, and backless, and cutouts oh my! Being a girl is a lot of work, especially in certain outfits. There are a lot of things that have to go on behind the scenes and under the seams, to keep everything right and tight. Today I want to share my favorite wardrobe hacks for those looks that need a little more finesse in order to impress.
Pasties or Nipple Covers
Anytime I go sans bra, I always slap on a pair nipple covers to keep my headlights in check. Unless you’re staring in the 90s sitcom Friends or Kendall Jenner nipples on parade is a hard look to pull of for the average gal. Which is why pasties were invented. I’ve tried the disposable and reusable kinds, and I think that disposable is the way to go (low beams by commando are my favorite). The reusable ones are good in theory but I’ve found that they don’t stay in place as well and are difficult to clean.
Strapless Panties
Strapless Panties are perfect when even seamless panties won’t cut it. Example: a very high side slit or side cut outs.
Fashion Tape
I keep Fashion Tape on hand AT ALL TIMES: in my carry on, my make up bag, my wallet…I try to make sure that I am never caught without. My main use obviously is to keep my neckline in place to keep from revealing more than just a little deccelote. When I’m going braless this is particularly important. It also doubles as hem tape in a pinch or to keep a gap between buttons closed.
Shapewear
Pick your poison: Spanx, Yummie Tummie, even Target has some great options. I personally prefer a high waisted mid thigh short. They get my belly and thighs sucked in and my butt lifted. What more could I want? Pro Tip: Shape wear doesn’t have to be uncomfortable, try on as many options as it takes to find what works best for you. Everyone has different problem areas they worry about, so there isn’t a one size fits all solution.
