When our friends Fran + Henry invited us to tag along for their Valentine’s Day trip I immediately jumped on board. We always have such a great time at Atlantis, and you can’t beat how easy that flight is from Miami. I think it is maybe 40 minutes! Christian and I hadn’t really been on a vacation together since July, so I was really excited to kick back relax and get to spend some quality time with him.
Where We Stayed
The Cove Atlantis
I’ve stayed at the cove before (see my full review here), and it is by far my favorite option at Atlantis. Every room is a suite with a living room, and you can’t find a bad view. I also love having access to the adults only Cove pool, which is a game changer if you are trying to live your best childless life haha. There are regular shuttles to the other towers, so getting around is super easy.
Where We Ate
Olives
Olive’s is my favorite spot for lunch near the big casino. You can’t go wrong ordering a couple of flat breads and a bottle of wine before hitting the slots.
Nobu
I would say this is the most popular restaurant at Atlantis, so a reservation is KEY. My personal favorites on the menu are the miso soup, waygu pot stickers, and beef tenderloin.
Graycliff
This adorable historical spot is a great option if you are looking for a nice meal after a day of exploring downtown Nassau. They also offer Wine luncheons and afternoon tea, both of which are great if you are on a girls trip!
Cafe Martinique
I can’t say enough about how amazing the atmosphere is at Martinique. The decor is gorgeous, and there is live piano music every night during dinner. They recently redid the menu, and now offer Mediterranean cuisine. I highly recommend getting the Mezze appetizer for the table!
Cleo Mediterráneo
Here’s what I will say about Cleo: The decor is gorgeous, the food was solid, and order extra pita bread.
Dune
Dune is hands down my favorite restaurant in Nassau. The view is spectacular, the service is impeccable, and those ginger margs give me so much joy haha. I’ve gone the last three times I’ve been in town, and I fall more in love with it each time (see more here).
What We Did
The Cove Cabana
Friday and Saturday we soaked up the sun at the Cove Pool / Beach. They have a great DJ playing all day and atmosphere is super fun. The Cabana is a great option if you are with a bigger group, and I highly recommend ordering in lunch. The chicken tenders / grouper tacos are some of our favs. PS. from the bar you should also try out a Goombay Smash, just make sure to limit yourself to only two haha. They are way deadlier than they taste!
Atlantis & Baha Mar Casinos
We spent a fair amount of time of this trip gambling. I’ve never really been that into it, but over the last few years I’ve gotten more adventurous with my betting. I mainly stick to the slots or watch Christian at the Roulette Table. This trip we ventured over to the Baha Mar casino which was SO nice, but empty. I think I actually prefer it to the Atlantis casino decor wise and there is also less smoke, but its more fun when its a bit more crowded.
Since I knew we wouldn’t be able to get into our rooms until the afternoon, I made sure that I looked presentable. I usually look homeless at the airport so this was a nice change haha.
PS. see if you can spy Christian’s Valentine’s gift for me. He surprised me on the way to the airport with a super sweet card and a little stuffed dog named smooches. Cheesy AF, but I was LIVING for it.
After our lunch at Olives I noticed that they were selling roses in the lobby. Already a few glasses of wine in, I insisted that I needed one since I did’t get flowers this year (they would have died by the time we got back). One rose cost ten dollars, which is insane but Christian got it for me anyway with minimal complaining haha.
The decor at Cafe Martinique was giving me all the feels. Can you say gallery wall goals??
I am obsessed with this two piece set. Minimal effort for maximum payoff.
I thought Valentine’s Day was the perfect time to whip out this color blocked suit. Also, this eyelet bow scrunchie was one of the heroes of my trip. It was such a cute accessory and came in handy when I wanted to go in the ocean or pool for a dip.
I love the entrance to the Cove. It feels so chic and glamorous, and is such a great vibe to start off your trip.
I got this palm springs stamped necklace last year and it has been sold out for months, but I just found it in stock here. It’s one of my favorite pieces of jewelry for spring/summer!
