WHERE I STAYED
During this trip I partnered with Burts Bees who set me up at the 1 Central Park. 1 hotels pride themselves on their eco friendly designs, so I was pretty excited to stay at this new location. My room had the most amazing industrial chic vibes with the most gorgeous bathroom AND a window seat. Also, the sink is set up to provide triple filtered water. If you follow me on Instagram Stories, you know that I have a major beef with hotels in NYC charging insane amounts for bottled water. AND Burts Bees gave us the cutest glass water bottles to use during our stay. I don’t usually stay uptown, but I actually ended up loving the location. It was so nice to be close to the park and all of the great shopping on Madison Avenue. They also have a great restaurant on the property called JAMS. The food was solid and it wasn’t overly expensive.
WHERE I ATE
This was the trip I decided to cross off a bunch of my millennial pink must see restaurants off my list.
Cha Cha Matcha
I headed here as soon as I landed. I had some time to kill before I could check into my hotel, and needed a little snack. Luckily it wasn’t too crowded, which I hear usually isn’t the case. So, I was able to post up and get some work done on my laptop for an hour. I ordered a pink drink (shocking) and chia pudding. Both were fine, but nothing to write home about. I’ll be honest if this place wasn’t so darn cute, I probably wouldn’t go back.
Pietro Nolita
I’ve seen this restaurant all over instagram, and was pretty hyped to finally get to try it. This spot is pretty tiny, but I got there around 5 so I didn’t have to wait to get a table. From the adorable pink facade outside to the pink menus and napkins, this place was Pink as F*ck and I loved it. I had a couple of Nolaritas (hold the mezcal bc I hate it) which were nice and strong. For the entree I opted for the Spaghetto al Pomodoro which did not disappoint. Overall was a nice dinner out, and would definitely go back.
Broken Coconut
I came here for a breakfast meeting, and every corner was so instagrammable it was hard to focus! Luckily the PR Firm I was meeting with reps for the restaurant, so she was more than willing to help me snap some pics 🙂 I really wanted to try the Acai bowl, but unfortunately they were out. I opted for the Vegan coconut yogurt bowl instead – which was actually pretty good. Next time I’m in the city, I’d love to go back for lunch!
WHAT I DID
Burts Bees Retreat
I started the trip off with the Burts Bees team for a pre-fashion week retreat. We had an amazing group dinner with the team and got to learn about all the new products getting ready to launch. Then back at the hotel they had everything set up for us to test out! My favorites were the lip scrub and sheet masks. The next morning they had a great buffet breakfast set up at the hotel followed by a mediation class. Honestly I’m not huge on meditation, so I took the time to pray and be thankful for another great trip to New York.
NYFW
After the Burts Bees retreat, I met up with Christina and we spent most of the rest of the trip running around to different shows, presentations, events, and meetings. One of my favorite events was at Eliza J – I have been loving their pieces lately and got to get a sneak peak and Spring/Summer. I also LOVED finally getting to see the BCBG presentation – everything had a moody fleetwood mac 70s vibe.I also made a point to stay active this trip (my apple watch always gives me the encouragement boost I need), so I made use of the hotel gym and the fact that the park was so close. Usually I never make time to walk through the park, so it was nice to take a beat and recharge amidst all the craziness.
These Cole Haan all weather boots were such a good investment this winter. They are super comfy and look a bit chicer than most other options.
How gorgeous is this room? I swear I’m copying this bathroom exactly when I get a house of my own.
.Never go anywhere without your silk pajamas! I travel a lot. So, I try to stick to certain things like a nighttime routine to keep me feeling grounded. I’m also obsessed with this metallic polka dot top. I’ve literally worn it like 7 times since I got it in february.
I’m so happy that berets are back in! I think that they make any outfit look instantly tres chic 🙂 Check out my tips for how to style a beret here.
I already have a couple hats hanging on my bedroom wall – but this makes me want to add wayyyy more!
