Earlier in the Summer I had the privilege of attending my dear friend Makenzie’s Bachelorette party in Scottsdale, Arizona. Makenzie and I have known each other since 8th grade. I still can’t believe she’s getting married! Celebrating this special moment with her is such a dream come true! I’ve actually known most of the other girls in the wedding party for 14+ years. Isn’t that crazy? I knew no matter where we went we would have a blast. I’ve been hearing great things about Scottsdale recently, and was super stoked to check it out for myself. The scenery was so picturesque and I was really impressed with all of the amazing restaurants and night life. I definitely would go back…just maybe during a cooler month. In December or January perhaps!
Day one:
I spent the night over at my friend Adrienne’s so that we could head straight to the airport together in the morning. We took off from Love Field which is always a treat because they have a chick fila AND a whataburger. We made sure to fill up on chicken mini’s in preporation for a long day of bachelorette fun aka drinking like we’re back in college.
Pro tips: if you fly Southwest head straight to the back so you can save seats that way the whole group is together. Just make sure at least one person has an A or B boarding portions and you are golden! Also we rented a car but barely used it, Uber was readily available and definitely the way to go.
We hit the ground running and headed straight to Olive and Ivy a super cute spot right next to the river. They had a solid drink menu and wine selection, and you can’t beat the views of the water. In that head I almost thought it was a mirage 😉
After lunch we checked in at JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort and Spa (say that three times fast), and let me tell you photos do not do it justice. The views of the mountains are incredible, it is impeccably landscaped, and the staff was beyond helpful. As soon as we dropped off our bags in the rooms, we headed straight to the pool to cool off for a few hours before dinner.
PS. the pool is open 24/7 which was amazing!
Before dinner we went to the hotel bar for some celebratory rose champs sent over by Makenzie’s Fiance which was super fun. Dinner was at Sumomaya a mexican asian fusion restaurant. After dinner we headed over to the W hotel rooftop bar for more drinks, dancing, and bachelorette debauchery.
I bought these tortoise print slides for this trip and have been obsessed with them ever since. Originally I bought them as strictly pool shoes. However, I’ve wound up trotting all over Miami in them. Make sure to order at least one size up – I’m usually a 6.5 and got an 8.
Drunken attempts at a cute photo with Adrienne…(loved this dress I wore from J.Crew’s new Mercantile line – on sale for only $40)
Day two
I was more than a little hungover when I work up that morning. But the prospect of spending the day at a poolside Cabana stuffing my face with pizza and french fries (after a dose of zofran) was exactly what the doctor ordered. After our fun day in the sun, Makenzie’s sister hosted a lingerie shower in their suite complete with champagne, the biggest cheese board I’ve ever seen and a hysterical quiz game about Makenzie’s Fiance Clark.Tonight’s dinner was at Fat Ox which had super cute decor and a giant family style menu. After dinner everyone was ready to put on their pjs and chill. So went back to the hotel for housewife music themed dance party. The countess, Lala, and of course Kim Zolciak Biermann were all on the playlist.
What a fun bunch of girls! You can shop my dress here.
Day Three
We had a farewell brunch at the hotel restaurant, before packing up to get to the airport. I absolutely loved the Camelback Inn and would highly recommend Scottsdale to anyone who’s planning a bachelorette!
