Getting to Istanbul was NOT easy. After being delayed in Dallas, then redirected to another airport in Turkey, landing, waiting on the tarmac for several hours, then finally getting approval to fly back to Istanbul we finally made it. Needless to say we arrived exhausted and even after a good nights rest at our hotel the 6 am wake up call combined with the jet lag proved to be a struggle bus of a combination. I’m a firm believer in powering through the first day of overseas travel otherwise I think you spend you’re entire trip trying to acclimate to the time change.
While not the most creative outfit, I absolutely love the print of this J.Crew dress (love it in the off the shoulder version). It also was the perfect length combined with this cardigan to fulfill all modesty requirements for visiting the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.
I’ve talked about them before, but these born sandals really are amazing for travel. I hate being relegated to just wearing sneakers when I’m doing a lot of walking, so the squishy insoles make this pair the perfect comfy chic solution.
The day after so much air travel I try to keep my make up routine simple and focus on hydrating skin care. I love to layer this Tula moisturizer and goop face oil under tinted moisturizer to really nourish my skin and keep it in good shape for the rest of the trip.
Istanbul is such a beautiful city and I cannot wait to go back! From the Grand Bazaar to all of the amazing architecture there is so much to do and see – make sure to tune in tomorrow for my first City Guide of the trip.
