Happy Heritage!
When the opportunity to go to the 50th Annual RBC Heritage Golf Tournament in Hilton Head came into my inbox I was super excited. I’ve been hearing about Hilton Head and this golf tournament from Bethany for years, and always wanted to go. I had pretty high expectations going in, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. From the beautiful Sonesta Hotel to the gorgeous views during the tournament the whole experience was a total dream. I can’t wait to come back next year and bring some more friends and Christian! I also think its worth noting that the RBC Heritage has a charitable component. While we were enjoying the Cocktails, Sky Boxes, Concerts, and Golf there was also major money being raised through ticket sales etc. for the Heritage Classic Foundation.
Day One:
So, I decided to fly into Charlotte and drive down with Bethany. Usually the easiest way to get to Hilton Head is through Savannah, but they don’t have direct flights from Miami until June. And honestly I had been dying to see B’s new house, and getting extra time together on the car ride down was a total plus. The flight into Charlotte was quick and painless. Bethany and I had a fun wine night on the porch and then called it an early-ish night so we wouldn’t be tired on the drive.
Day Two:
We hit the road by 10, and honestly we had so much to chat about that the drive just flew by! We arrived around 1:30 at the Sonesta Resort – dropped off our bags and headed to Faces for a pre-tournament pampering and facial. Which was a great way to relax before the start of busy weekend.
When we got back to the hotel we were welcomed with presents from local vendors and the most amazing cheese board. Wine plus gouda equals the perfect pre dinner snack in my book! For dinner we headed over to Dockside, and sat on the patio so we could enjoy the gorgeous sunset. PS. the pimento cheese grits are amazing!
Day Three:
We woke up early to take advantage of the famous Sonesta buffet breakfast, and then headed down to the beach. After catching some rays we got ready for the tournament around noon, and caught the shuttle to Harbor Town. We headed to the Sky boxes for lunch and a couple of tequila pineapples.
After the tournament, we spent the evening at the a Welcome Cocktail party hosted by the Sonesta (they hosted several events for the tournament which was great because there always something going on).
Day Four:
Today we arrived to the tournament by catamaran, which was super fun and festive. We got to learn more about Hilton Heads history and ecosystem on the ride. We made a B line straight to the Calabogue club for an amazing lunch and views of the tournament. I also really enjoyed sitting at Docs BBQ and the Savannah Airport Skybox. After the tournament, we headed back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner at Red Fish.
All purses have to either be clear or under a certain size, so I was very excited when I found this PVC birkin bag look alike. It was perfect for the tournament, and I’ll definitely be using it for the pool and beach this summer.
