Nothing bonds us girls together quite like a shopping trip – am I right? So when the time came to pick out my future mother and sister in laws dresses for my wedding I was super excited to set up an appointment at David’s Bridal. I wanted to pamper them with the same fun experience I had shopping there a few months earlier. We don’t get to spend as much time together since Christian and I moved to Dallas, so it was such a treat to get to go out for the afternoon just the three of us. I was able to get us an appointment during our Thanksgiving week trip at the David’s Bridal located on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. Not only is an iconic location for shopping, but we also had our pick of lunch spots for after their fitting.
For Melissa, I knew right away she would love the White by Vera Wang Collection. The dresses feel sexy and modern, but still classic. It was so interesting to see that my mother in law and I both loved this dress on her, while she really liked this one. They both were amazing, but in the end I had to pull the bride card haha.
Pro Tip: Choosing a similar color palette for most of the family will make things a lot easier, and less likely that people will clash in the photos.
For Luisa’s Mother of the Groom dress, she wanted something flattering and age appropriate, but not too matronly. She has so much personality and spunk, and I wanted that to show through. Her favorite option from the store was this gold sequin number, which I also loved! But she ultimately found her dress on DavidsBridal.com – side note they have an even bigger selection of dress online than they do in store. I can’t wait for y’all to see what she ended up with…Sophia Loren wishes!
Over all it was such a fun shopping trip, and as always the David’s Bridal stylists were super helpful. From what shapewear would work well under the dresses to heels you can dance the night away in, the stylist had all the best recs. It was such a nice note to kick off our new relationships as official family!
