Finding the Perfect Reception Dress with David’s Bridal
Hey y’all! I am SO excited to share today’s Wedding Wednesday post with you. One of my favorite trends of late is wearing two different dresses during your wedding, one during the ceremony and then one during the reception slash after party. My first dress is pretty traditional and fairly difficult to move around in. So while I am obsessed with what I chose to walk down the aisle in, I also knew that when it came time to hit the dance floor I would need a dress with a bit more mobility. Now I know what you might be thinking, “Two dresses? Weddings are expensive enough, who can afford that?” Which is why when it came time to start looking for my reception dress, I immediately thought of David’s Bridal.
When I came in for my appointment with my David’s Bridal stylist, I knew exactly what section to make a beeline for. I had already been stalking a few dresses online and they all came from their White by Vera Wang collection. Not only are the designs stunning, and the quality impeccable, but they also are at an amazing price point. Since my first dress is pretty traditional I tried to pick out a few style options that were on the more of a modern style for variety, and also would be easy to get my groove on it : )
1) White by Vera Wang Illusion Floral Wedding Dress
I was initially drawn to the beautiful lace on the chest of this dress and the gorgeous buttons down the back of the bodice. However, I felt like this dress was maybe too similar to my ceremony dress, and still had a lot of skirt to work with.
2 White by Vera Wang Halter Sheath Wedding Dress
I loved that this dress had a more modern feel, but also still had romantic details in the lace. I think that the back of the dress was absolutely stunning, but I didn’t think the front neckline on me was the most flattering.
3 White by Vera Wang Short Sleeve Lace Wedding Dress
I loved the open back on this dress and the buttons going all the way down the train. I also loved the look of the cap sleeves, but felt like it might be difficult to raise my arms, thus impeding my dancing. I’ve gotta be able to raise the roof!
4 White by Vera Wang Crystal T-Back Stretch Crepe Slip Gown with Ribbon Dress
This was one of the dresses I was most excited to try on. I loved the sleekness of the silhouette and fabric, and the rhinestone detailing down the back is so chic to me. This dress is definitely one of my top two contenders.
I couldn’t go to David’s Bridal and not check out some gifts for my gals! I can’t wait to share all the bachelorette party goodies I picked up for next month : )
5 White by Vera Wang Crepe-Back Satin Gown with Encrusted Bandeau Dress
Oh my gosh this dress, where do I start? From the gorgeous train to the beading on the front and back of the bodice, I fell in love the second I tried it on. It fit me like a glove, and I just felt so modern and elegant in it. I can definitely see Christian and I dancing the night away in this dress.
So which one do y’all think I chose? It’s probably pretty obvious, but I’ll keep it a secret until the big day ; ) Thank you again to the David’s Bridal Stylists who helped me, not only did they make sure to answer my every question, they were also excellent hype men AND endured all of my picture taking.
Pro Tip: It really does help you to decide by seeing yourself in a photo wearing the dress. It’s probably the most photographed day of your life, so it makes sense to test it out on camera!

Hey girl! I found your blog by googling the exact dress I’m looking at from David’s Bridal! It’s the Crepe-Back Satin Gown with Encrusted Bandeau WHITE BY VERA WANG PARTY. Did you end up choosing this dress? I’m stuck between this one and another. SOS!
