At the beginning of the summer Christian and I slipped out of Miami for a quick weekend getaway up to The Eau Palm Beach. I’d been dying over all of the gorgeous images I’d seen of the property on Instagram and couldn’t wait to shoot a bunch of content for the blog. Well wouldn’t you know that it rained the ENTIRE weekend?! Initially I was very bummed because it’s not every day I get to be in such a luxe setting, and I always like to try and get content and photos to share with you guys.
However, the rain forced me to not focus on work and actually enjoy this relaxing weekend with my boyfriend. We made the best out of the weather and camped out under one of the beach cabanas, ordered an amazing lunch and drank spicy watermelon margs to our hearts content. The rest of the time we holed up with Netflix + room service and were just a pair of no name slobs. Honestly it was one of the more fun trips we’ve been on together. If we were going at the beach stuck in a hotel while it downpours outside, it might as well be one designed by Jonathan Adler, with a room service menu that offers Filet Mignon, and hands down the friendliest staff of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
A champagne cheers to start the weekend – The view from our balcony was insane!
The poolside restuarant Breeze Ocean Kitchen was so yummy! You can have food delivered directly to the bungalows and more importantly drinks! At one point it was raining so hard we had to close the curtains to keep the water out. Our poor waitress kept running out to us with a towel over her head. We had the best time though, it felt like it was just us snuggled up in our own little fort…but it literally was just us because no one else was crazy enough to hang out by the beach during a storm all day haha.
I’m obsessed with this little travel pouch from PB Teen Emily & Merritt collection (which is SO cute btw). It’s waterproof which is perfect for a wet swimsuit after a day at the beach.
These cream loafers have been my go-to shoes all summer long and now they are only $47!
How gorgeous is this all marble bathroom? #goals
Even though it wound up being rainy all weekend, I still had all of my beach essentials with me. This Bare Republic sunscreen literally smells INSANELY good! I also love this Fekkai apes soleil hair treatment, which is my favorite to use after the pool.
Why be at the office when you can be at the ocean? True dat.
So I was only able to shoot one outfit, so I couldn’t get all the content for instagram that I wanted to, so, so…so what?
Probably the hardest part of blogging is work life balance. My life is quite literally my work, but when I don’t take the time to unplug they both inevitably suffer. It’s such a fine line between capturing content during trip for social media and actually being present in the moment experiencing it. This is a lesson I have had to learn time and time again, and I’ll tell ya, it is still a struggle. Snapping out of my panic over the weather wasn’t easy, but once I did I had a perfectly lovely weekend with my boyfriend (and still managed to get enough photos for this recap post).
