We spent the first day of our trip in Istanbul (see my outfit details here) and I was honestly shocked at how much I loved it. Istanbul has never been a place I’ve given much though to going but now that I have, I can’t wait to go back! We started off the day at the Blue Mosque, next we went on to tour Haga Sophia, and finally stopped by the Grand Bazaar for some shopping (if you are in the market for a rug this is the place to get it – a huge selection and prices that can’t be beat). All of the architecture was so stunning I could have spent the entire day just wandering around the city taking photos.

My brother Taylor was such a sport on this trip with helping me to take photos. I couldn’t help but get a little annoyed that every time he stood in for me to test the lighting, he would wind up looking like a model! If only getting pictures of me were so easy haha.
The ceiling at the Haga Sophia was a work of art. I literally almost ate it several times because I was too busy staring upwards in awe.
There were so many stray pups around the city – I swear if we would have let him, Taylor would have adopted them all!
I loved this mosaic of Jesus because no matter where you were in the room it looked like he was staring at you – kind of similar to the Mona Lisa.
These chandeliers were so amazing in person…I kept singing “Be our guest, Be our guest…” haha
I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos from our trip but until then you can check out Day One: Istanbul, Turkey Part I.
