“Committed to her vision” is how my mom’s decorator described me after helping me order the wallpaper and select the fabric for the drapes. She was absolutely correct.
Bear had arrived a month early, and his nursery was 10% complete. We had a crib…and some onesies. So when it came to making design choices in between breast feeding sessions, I had to be quick and decisive. I saw this Schumacher gingham wallpaper on Pinterest months prior and essential designed the whole room around it. I absolutely love how it turned out, and it makes the space feel so happy and bright. I wanted a sweet and classic vibe, with some sentimental pieces woven in (this Petite Keep trunk was perfect for that), which I think I achieved. While it would have been nice to have everything all ready to go before Bear arrived, all in all it only took about 6 weeks to finish the room (wallpaper prep and install, get the furniture delivered – luckily I found the glider and dresser at Kathy Kuo Home and they shipped out quickly, and have the drapes made). So it all worked out in the end.
