I’m so excited to share these photos with y’all today’s Wedding Wednesday post. I’ve teamed up with BHLDN, one of my favorite wedding websites, to share this gorgeous dress from their new Spring Collection. I’ve always wanted to have a fun bridal shoot at the beach, so this campaign was the perfect excuse. And now that I’ve done it, I have a few tips and tricks I’d love to share with y’all so that you can get your perfect Beach Bride Portrait.
1. Timing is Everything
Luccia and I scheduled this shoot for 6:30am on a Tuesday. Not only would this ensure perfect lighting, but also that we wouldn’t have an audience.
2. Change on the Beach
It is a lot easier to transport a wedding dress in a garment bag, rather than on your body. Most beaches have restrooms you can change in, or you can bring a pop up changing room.
3. Have a Shot List
Before I changed into my dress, I scoped out exactly where I would like to stand and what kind of shots I wanted Luccia to get. Experimenting with positioning and angles is a lot easier in plain clothes. Plus if you know exactly where and how you are posing, it helps with any jitters you may have getting in front of the camera. Also the less you are moving around in your dress the better. I’m guessing after carefully selecting and spending a pretty penny on your wedding dress the last thing you want is to get it messed up by sand or ocean water.
PS. If you aren’t familiar with BHLDN (pronounced beholden), they are a one stop shop for everything you need for your wedding or bridal events. From wedding dresses to bridesmaids robes, and even decor for your engagement party, they have it all covered. Use code ASHLEYFREESHIP for free shipping through 2/11.
